      Seth woke up with a shout escaping his lips. Images of burnt limbs, snapping, breaking reached out to him. The flesh blossoming off the bone and floating up to his face, empty eye sockets and jaws that opened up into a dark void screamed at him. A family soul-shattering cry.    He kicked out confused, not knowing where he was. The familiar warmth of Paxton was nowhere to be felt and it made him nervous. He opened his eyes.    He was in a bedroom... it was normal-sized.    It was proportionate to him. The bed, furniture, curtains... everything.    He rubbed his eyes hard.    Was he still dreaming?    He looked down at the bed

    Paxton crouched down in the middle of the basement, dust heavy in the air and it was bitterly cold. Not to mention the whole place smelled horrid. The floor had a draft and the house creaked which drove him crazy thinking it was Seth somehow. He tried to map out the basement looking for all the vents or possible cracks, but it was too dark for him to tell. He shifted weight onto his sword that kept his balance.    He breathed in the cold air and focused on listening to everything around him, taking in the smallest nose into consideration.     “I don’t get it.” Seth murmured “How come every place we end up going to is either abandoned, haunted or appalling.” His face couldn’t hide the visible disgust of the place.    “This place isn’t that bad,” Paxton said looking at the town well house. It took them over an hour to get here and to figure out where exactly this was. There was still a good layer of snow on the ground which covered the house too, the place was run down but still standing. If anything this place was a dust magnet and probably haunted.    It sat in the middle of the town, a large yard with a tree or two but

    “Good morning.”    Seth grumbled at the voice and flipped over, wanting another five minutes. For some reason, he felt exhausted. He felt a finger gently prod his back urging him to wake up, he didn’t even have to open his eyes to see the smile on Paxton’s face. The giant hovered nearby and so did the smell of food.    “Breakfast, come on.” Paxton said softly.    Seth looked up and wiped the sleep from his eyes. Everything was bright and he was inside Paxton’s coat pocket. he looked down at him. Seth looked at him confused.    “We are in a bakery, you slept in. What do you want?̶

     I’m sorry Dr. Sasaki that I left on such short notice. I’m going to miss our sessions together as I deeply enjoyed discussing books with you.      Seth sat in the pearly white house his mind blank as he rocked himself in the chair. There in the living room was his aunt, the woman dressed in red. The color was so painfully vibrant it was hard to look at.    “Seth, please talk to me.” His aunt said softly, placing a gloved hand and his ashen covered body. Seth flinched at first, his aunt pulling his hands and held them in her own. Dirtying her once stainless white gloves.    “What happened?” she said softly.      The driveway was long, longer than he ever remembered. Every step he took he felt his body become heavier with every step. He looked out of place walking in such a fancy and clean environment. The lawn was neatly trimmed, the hedges sculptured into giant figures. There were greek sculptures scattered around the garden all of them  Just as expensive as the rest of the place. The garden was large, hundreds of roses everywhere, bright red against the bright green on the garden.    It was a beautiful day outside, the sun was bright, birds were singing and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky.
